Since their arrival on the pop/R&B circuit, BitterSweet has become one of Southern California’s most talked about new groups. With new hits Be With Me and Mr. Right, it isn’t difficult to imagine why their first album is hotly anticipated this year.

Their first single, Be With Me, was released December 11, 2012, internationally on iTunes in the United States and in 52 countries around the world in collaboration with LRT/Ingrooves-Fontana/Universal. Recent interviews in China and Australia attest to the global popularity of this incredible group of young people! Collectively, the two young ladies and young men who comprise BitterSweet share one thing in common: their love of music and performing. Each of the four members are between 14 and 16 and began taking to the stage singing, dancing and performing early in live. “Their cultural differences bring the group a unique, diverse persona,” adds RK Records VP of Marketing Edrick McDaniel.

Singers Lea and GiGi, with dancers Sonari and Dominic have a unique chemistry that electrifies their audiences. “Their dedication is clear,” says RK Records Founder and CEO Jay “Grandmaster Jay” Pugh.

“They spend long hours rehearsing, and their audiences LOVE THEM!” Offstage, they are all best friends, spending their time rehearsing, going to the movies, helping each other with homework and, of course, texting!

BitterSweet’s second single, Girls Night Out, will debut on iTunes in late April 2013 together with the video of the same name. And in May, the long-awaited video companion to Be With Me will finally become available to fans! Grandmaster Jay promises anxious fans the full debut album will be released before school starts in the fall.

BitterSweeet’s style is reminiscent of pop/R&B groups of the past, such as Expose, En Vogue and SWV, and yet they have a distinctive music technique all their own. The songs on their debut album reflect the group’s desire to send a message to other young people facing the harsher realities of the world today: one need not settle for less due to circumstances - one must always expect more and work hard to create the circumstances for a successful life.

R.K. Records Founder and CEO Grandmaster Jay is a native of Jamaica Queens, New York. He has built a reputation over the past two decades gaining renown as a producer, writer, arranger, artist and actor. To his credit are 26 movie soundtracks and the music for 24 commercials. The objective of RK Records is to bring more inclusive acts into the music industry. “We hope to set the example of a successful record/management company that is respected and highly regarded both within the music industry and the wider business community as well,” he says.
